During a visit, staff go through an on-screen interview with the client, and the system fills in the agency's paper forms from the answers. On 29 Sep 2026 Jane showed the customer the Start of Care \/ Annual (SOC\/AO) visit on site. This issue is one item from their feedback (item **H3** in `docs\/ActionItems.md`).\n\n## The customer's rule\n> \"Can change allotted hours per day but cannot change total hours authorized.\" \"Can't go over authorized hours.\"\n\nStaff may move hours between days (e.g. 3 on Monday, 5 on Tuesday), but the **weekly total must not go over** the authorized weekly hours (H2).\n\n## How it works today\nNothing compares the schedule's total with the authorization.\n\n## What to do\nAdd the check: show a running total beside the authorized hours as staff fill in the days, and act when the total is greater.\n\n## Decision needed from the customer\nWhen the total goes over:\n- **hard stop**: the visit can't continue until the schedule fits, or\n- **warning**: it is allowed but flagged to the office (shown on the review page).\n\nAlso: is a total **under** the authorized hours fine, or should it be flagged too?\n\n## Technical notes\nElements: `schedule.*` and the derived weekly total.
